Are you a user of SchoolSpeak, the comprehensive school management solution? We are pleased to introduce our new iOS App, which allows you to conveniently access all the features of your SchoolSpeak web portal. With the App, you can access announcements, calendar events, homework, grades, report cards, lunch ordering, and other features provided by your school in a more streamlined manner. The SchoolSpeak App can be used by multiple users on the same device, allowing for easy access for both students and parents.

Please note that using the app requires a Wi-Fi or mobile data connection to the internet. It is important to be aware that using the app on a mobile data connection may result in additional charges. However, we provide the option to disable mobile data usage in the app settings.

The SchoolSpeak App also offers the ability to retain an offline record of certain content available online, such as the calendar, announcements, homework, and member list. This means that even when you are not connected to the internet, you can still access important information. Imagine being able to review your school calendar or check announcements while on a plane trip!

Currently, the app is primarily focused on providing information from your SchoolSpeak portal. However, we have plans to add editing functionality in future updates.

Who can use the SchoolSpeak App?

• Students (if permitted by their school)

To access the app, users will need their SchoolSpeak user ID and password.

How does SchoolSpeak work?

SchoolSpeak offers a comprehensive solution for schools, bringing together various functionalities under a single login. It includes online communication, student information, a secure portal, attendance tracking, grade book, report cards, homework assignments, announcements, calendars, email integration, text messaging, lunch ordering, an online store, payment options, online emergency forms, volunteer sign-up, and emergency notifications.

Any user of SchoolSpeak can log in to the app using their SchoolSpeak login ID and password. Once logged in successfully, the user is presented with a homepage that displays all relevant information in a concise and organized manner.

The SchoolSpeak App is organized into five tabs: Menu, Home, Members, Email, and More.

• Menu: Allows for quick access to any desired information and facilitates easy navigation.
• Home: Provides a concise and organized view of all information relevant for the selected date range or the current day.
• Members: Allows users to search for anyone within the school community. Clicking on a name provides contact details and options for communication such as email or call.
• Email: Enables users to send emails to other individuals, entire classes, teams, or the entire school.
• More: Provides additional features such as providing feedback, contacting the school directly, viewing all calendars at once, changing the PIN, and updating app content.

What features are included in the SchoolSpeak App?

The app currently supports viewing content and emailing functionality. Additional edit functions will be provided in future updates. The key features of the app include:

• Viewing all SchoolSpeak information such as announcements, newsletters, photos, calendars, homework assignments, grades, and report cards.
• Ordering lunch and making online payments.
• Signing up for volunteer opportunities and submitting service hours (requires an internet connection).
• Sending emails to other users, entire classes, teams, or the entire school.
• Accessing the member directory to quickly find contact information for individuals within the school community.
• Offline access to certain data even when not connected to the internet.
• Ability to set up multiple users on the same device for easy access for multiple individuals.

Please note that these features must be enabled in your SchoolSpeak account by administrators in order for them to appear in the app.
